About Corrina

IMG_1981Hi there,

Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog, I am very humbled by you and your interest into knowing more about me.

I enjoy writing. I have no formal training in writing except for a creative writing course I took in high school a long, long (cough) long time ago. Even as I began to blog I had no idea how this would evolve or how I myself could evolve as a person who loves to write.

Sometimes I still feel I am writing privately even though I now sign in and see the occasional like,  comment , or a new follower, which I get so very excited about! Never mind the slew of amazing people who have chosen to press my follow button.

In the past I lacked the confidence and training to actually call myself a writer, although I still went ahead and bravely added my name to the blog. I had no help with creating this wordpress blog aside from what I found online, so I’m pretty proud of myself for getting this up and running, although I do dream of having my very own website one day, yet I still have much to learn.

The only thing I ever wrote before this blog was poetry, and as for poetry I always felt poetry picked me to write is as it forced its way from my mind into ink. My rants and raves are totally just my thoughts slammed down no style, no purpose, no “considering what the reader would think”, just raw me..with many typos..as I still find a few.

Its now more than a year later, and my love for writing has evolved. In the past I wrote only when inspired, but now, well now Im actually encouraging myself to write without the typical nudge I had in the past, which may have been a whim, an emotion, a random idea that evolved into a rhyme or story. I have more of my words to offer..in one form or another.

I’m also reading more on how to write , and I’m excited. Even my poetry now doesn’t always just spill out as a means of relieving my heart of rhymes begging for a home on paper . I’m finding inspiration in many words pictures, styles, not just my emotion, although we know emotion cannot be separated from any words we as writers write, as every word is laced with every molecule of emotion we have (there I said it, I called myself a writer).

I really wish I made less errors and typos though, I’m so very bad for that.

I am blessed in so many ways in life. I have two beautiful children which are the world to me and despite my challenges of being a single mom. My children are growing up amazing spirits, they make me so proud every day.

I have a special connection to God, nature , spirituality , a great love for people, animals and mother earth; I love my family.

I have been a volunteer in many different positions throughout my life as giving back to our communities has always been of great importance to me. We are all on our own journey here on this earth and each one of has our unique story as I do mine. I despise seeing people being taken advantage, marginalized, oppressed, as well as subjected to abuse and mistreatment at the hands of others, we are all people, we should all be treated equal in my world.

Social justice issues mean a lot to me. I do my very best to critically look at my actions every day as to ensure I follow my heart and be a good person, I am not perfect though, I still mess up.

I have always had a passion for writing and would love to publish a full collection of my poetry. I began writing at the early age of 13 or so. I am inspired to write a tribute story of my mothers courage as a single parent who faced multiple barriers , how she refused to give up even when she knew the her days on this earth were but a few. My mother showed surmountable courage, yet taken far too early at the age of 61 to lung cancer. My mother’s story needs to be told, I hope one day I find the courage and strength to finish my book.

I look forward to sharing my perceptions from this life, as well as provide my comments on how I view and perceive my world around me. I now realize we each live in our own reality, very little can be objective when it involves human nature. With that being said, its good to remember it is beneficial to pop our heads up and look at the bigger picture once in awhile, just to be better informed. We can all grow from each others perceptions and perspective, as long as we keep our minds and hearts open to new possibilities, anything is possible.

One more thing, I’d like to mention that I was raised till 18 years in one of the most beautiful corners of this beautiful country, Newfoundland & Labrador. I come from lines of both Irish and Scottish ancestry and have had many longings to go back home one day to settle by the sea. A place where you cannot find friendlier people, or a more scenic beautiful land; as my dad always called it ” God’s country”.

Peace and love,
Corrina Leblond
